For about 3 weeks now, we've had this chicken living in our front yard. She sleeps behind our front bushes and has even laid an egg! We've grown fond of our little chicken and it doesn't seem weird to us at all anymore; however, there have often been random people standing in the middle of our yard or walking up to dig through our bushes. Today, some guy was looking in our bushes as we were driving up and then he chased it out and around the corner house, so I hope he didn't run it off to an unsafe place for good!!! Another day, people were about to call animal services. It's amazing how people that don't even live around here care so much about getting rid of an "abnormal" animal when it doesn't even bother the people that live where it has been hanging out! I'm really bothered about how rude people can be. I have a feeling we won't see that chicken again, but as long as it's not killed in the middle of the road, I guess I'll be alright...Steven will go out and defend the little thing when people are out gawking at it! What a nice guy. Save the chickens!!!!
